The Ondo State Government has inaugurated a steering committee for the Safe Schools Programme aimed at protecting students, teachers and school infrastructure from attacks and kidnappings.

The committee, comprising security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders and education stakeholders, is tasked with improving coordination and strengthening security in schools across the state.

Officials say the initiative is a response to rising threats against educational institutions and will promote safer learning environments statewide.
