Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has urged Nigerian journalists to continue holding government accountable while also highlighting the country’s achievements and opportunities.

Kalu, speaking at the inauguration of the new executive of the House Press Corps in Abuja, said balanced journalism should reflect both Nigeria’s challenges and progress to improve the country’s image globally.

He urged journalists to use their platforms to promote national unity, democracy and patriotism, stressing that their reports play a key role in shaping public perception of Nigeria.
