The Lagos State Government has commenced construction of a new workers’ village at Ajasa, Command, in Ipaja, as part of efforts to provide affordable housing for residents.

The Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, said the project will deliver 176 housing units, while contractors handling the Egan-Igando Housing Scheme have been directed to complete the 636-unit estate within weeks.

The commissioner, during an inspection of housing projects across the state, said the government remains committed to reducing the housing deficit and ensuring residents have access to quality and affordable homes.
