President Bola Tinubu has directed the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, to ensure all Nigerians are captured in the national identity database by the end of 2026.
NIMC Director-General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, said the commission has so far registered over 137 million Nigerians, adding that complete enrollment will help improve national planning and service delivery.
She said the agency is working with relevant partners, including the World Bank’s ID4D project, to expand registration efforts to communities across the country.
