Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, has announced his deputy, Yakubu Garba, as his running mate for his second-term bid on the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Bago made the announcement in Minna, urging political and religious stakeholders to avoid actions capable of creating tension and threatening peace in the state.

The governor also advised Garba to embrace all groups, including those opposed to his nomination, and work towards unity, harmony and development in Niger State.
