The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Joash Amupitan, has warned that anyone involved in election violence or vote-buying during the August 15 Osun Governorship Election will face the full weight of the law.

Speaking at the signing of the National Peace Committee’s Peace Accord in Osogbo, Amupitan said INEC had completed most of its preparations and would deploy personnel, security agencies and over 4,400 BVAS devices across the state to ensure a credible election.

He also assured voters that stolen Permanent Voter Cards cannot be used because accreditation requires biometric verification, while promising enhanced security in identified flashpoint areas.
