The Federal Government says Nigeria will never support a military coup or any unconstitutional change of government, dismissing claims that it backed a failed coup attempt in Niger Republic as baseless and misleading.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye, said Nigeria remains committed to democracy, constitutional rule and political stability in West Africa.

He urged Nigerians to disregard videos and narratives circulating online, saying they are intended to create confusion and damage Nigeria’s image.
