Former world number one Venus Williams has suffered her 16th consecutive singles defeat after losing six-two, six-two to 18-year-old Lilli Tagger at the Guangzhou Open in China.
The 46-year-old American, a seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, has not won a match since July 2025 and currently relies on tournament wildcards.
The defeat also marked one of the biggest age gaps between opponents in WTA Tour history.
