Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has criticized residents who risked their lives collecting fuel from a tanker accident at Liverpool Bridge, Apapa, calling it “dangerous and irresponsible.
He praised emergency responders and police for quickly securing the scene and preventing further harm.
Sanwo-Olu warned that public safety must come before material gain and urged residents not to repeat such behavior.
He also highlighted ongoing issues of indiscipline, including illegal waste dumping, and announced that LAWMA will enforce tougher sanctions this year.
