The House of Representatives has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently strengthen security in parts of Gombe State following deadly bandit attacks.

The resolution followed a motion by Chief Whip Bello Kumo, who highlighted assaults in Garin Galadima, Pindiga, Garin Jaji, and Laro communities in Akko LGA, where six people were killed and 20 abducted.

The House urged the President to direct the Chief of Defence Staff to launch a coordinated joint security operation with aerial surveillance and ground support, and called on the IGP to deploy Mobile Police squadrons.

Lawmakers also mandated NEMA and the North-East Development Commission to provide relief to victims and directed relevant committees to monitor implementation and report weekly until security is restored.
