D’Tigress Coach, Rena Wakama has called on her team to move past their 77–60 defeat to South Korea in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Lyon, France.

Victoria Macaulay led Nigeria with 22 points and six rebounds, but turnovers and strong Korean defense proved costly.

Wakama urged them to learn from the loss and refocused ahead of their next game against the Philippines, praising South Korea’s defensive performance.

Nigeria and Germany have already secured spots at the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, while remaining teams compete for the final slots across four venues worldwide.
