President Bola Tinubu has ordered all political appointees intending to run for elective positions in the 2027 general elections to resign by March 31st, 2026.

The directive, issued through the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, affects ministers, advisers, aides, and heads of federal agencies.

Officials are required to submit their resignation letters to the OSGF by the deadline.
