The Lagos Water Corporation says its water network serves 34,424 registered households, covering an estimated 1.03 per cent of Lagos State’s 20 million residents.

The corporation’s Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, Rasaq Anifowoshe, disclosed that actual daily water production averages about 7.21 million gallons, far below the state’s estimated daily demand of 540 million gallons.

He blamed ageing pipelines, population growth and inadequate infrastructure expansion for the shortfall, leaving many residents dependent on boreholes and water vendors at additional costs.
